auntie mommy
I fell in love.
At the sweet age of five
With a woman, so rugged yet soft
A survivor, provider, strengthener
Someone who served as a spine in the back and a heart in the chest.
A mouth always smiling, arms always hugging, a soul always loving
Who sung but couldn’t sing, danced even when trumped with disease
A caretaker and caregiver.
A lover and listener.
Laughing and talking, at the moment that always seemed to be right.
A gift to this world.
An angel from heaven.
The true definition of what love is,
Unselfish and kind.
Everlasting and ever giving.
I’ve always had this example in my life of how a real woman should be.
And even when I fall short, i look to her knowing that I must be doing something right if she loves me so.
There’s no one who can ever duplicate her; her love or her spirit.
I am thankful for this woman and If i ever become just half of what she is, of who she is, I’d be more than happy.
